How we gained 2,500 keywords and 1,200+ monthly site visits for a brand-new website

By the numbers:

  • 2,500 organic keywords
  • 1,200+ monthly visitors
  • Increased domain rating from 0 to 8

Competitive niches like furniture eCommerce take more than organic keywords to rank high in search. Because of the variety of players in this space (heavy hitters like Walmart, IKEA, and Wayfair, along with smaller businesses), our client needed a way to stand out to its clients, build trust, and attract search engines.

Our customer’s unique niche comes in the form of buying and selling unique furniture. It’s similar to online consignment for furniture, but with higher returns and 24/7 accessibility.

We leaned on these aspects to help our client achieve 2,500 new organic keywords and gain backlinks from 85 different referring domains.

Here’s how ABC Plus helped a website with little to no authority achieve SEO success.

The Strategy

Our customer was brand new to online authority, which gave us some challenges early on. Without authority, they didn’t have strong chances of ranking for difficult keywords. Positions in the top three spots were likely out of reach as well.

We recommended ABC Plus, which focuses on strategic link-building and growing online authority. Links are a signal of quality to search engines, especially if they come from websites with high authority.

Link-building also allows us to add context to our client’s website by strategically choosing anchor text. Anchor text can help search engines learn what a web page’s content is about, which will help the page rank higher in organic search.

The Results

Now in month 10 of ABC Plus, our client has gone from a domain authority rating of 0 to 8, a direct impact of link-building. We also took traffic to 1,200+ monthly website visits.

We also gained 2,500 new organic keywords, several of which now rank in the Top 3 positions in Google search results. Previously struggling to compete for keywords, the client now has a wide range of keywords in their portfolio, including some rated as having a difficulty of 70 and higher (and some as high as 90+!).

Last Word

Our team’s mission with this client was multifold: First, we wanted to help them grow their authority so they could rank higher in organic search results. The second objective was to help the client’s unique attributes stand out in a niche that has a vast variety of businesses competing for similar keywords. They’re not just another furniture store and needed to capitalize on the right keywords and traffic to communicate their value. Achieving the first will also help us satisfy the second.
