How One Company Claimed the Top 3 Spots for 59 Keywords

Chiqui Pangan

By the numbers:

  • 59 keywords in Top 3 positions
  • 17-point DR increase
  • 1000s of organic keywords

Niche websites have a smaller target audience, which can prove challenging in choosing which keywords to target. For our client who runs a stag party company in Ireland, they needed to compete with general terms related to party planning, weddings, and travel. While this gave them a broad list of potential keywords, they also needed to align those keywords with search intent, adding another layer of complexity to the process.

Before Authority Builders, our client was ranking low on the first page of Google but couldn’t break into the Top 5.

Here’s how we doubled down on authority to increase their rankings, and by extension, their opportunities to convert visitors into customers.

The Strategy

We’ve been working with Stag It’s internal team for 32 months using our ABC Plus service. Our service builds domain authority by using backlinks and keywords strategically. Backlinks need to be placed on relevant niche websites to drive referral traffic and increase search algorithm trust. The keywords used in each link also require consideration, as these keywords have the power to add context to the content they’re linking to.

To do this, we’ve targeted the home page along with other internal pages as needed. Appearing on the bottom of page one, we knew Google had indexed the site. We believed having additional links and keywords could boost the site’s position.

The Results

The client now occupies the Top 3 positions for all of their target keywords (57 in total) and regularly jostles between 1st and 2nd. This is a major uplift from before our collaboration, where the client ranked low on the first page of results but never broke into the Top 5.

We’ve also seen a domain rating increase of 17 points, which now sits at 26. Domain authority has a direct correlation with link building, as more links tend to signal greater trust and authority. This is especially true when those links come from relevant websites and use contextually relevant keywords.

Our client’s site is also getting recognized for 1000s of organic keywords. A total of 2.9K keywords help to drive 2.2K monthly visitors to the site, leading to more chances to turn visits into leads into sales.

Last Word

Niche websites can still compete on a wide variety of keywords. It’s important to narrow the focus to just those keywords that align with the business’s services and customer search intent, as well as those that are achievable given the site’s authority and budget.
