With traffic and authority low, we flipped the script by using backlinks to boost credibility and achieve higher rankings. Here’s how we did it.
The Strategy
Our client relies on a local audience in Australia, given the need for physical shipping and setup. It was important to get in front of relevant searchers, which creates the need to balance popular keywords with locally focused searches.
To do this, we applied our ABC Plus service to grow the site’s authority and build backlinks. By placing links with contextual anchor text on relevant sites, we could improve the clarity of our client’s services to algorithms so they could rank accordingly. We targeted their main inner “money pages” that have a high purchase intent to encourage lead generation and avoid generic traffic and search appearances.
The Results
Since beginning ABC Plus, the client’s site has increased in traffic from 247 monthly visits to 6.2K visits—a 2,410% increase. Traffic has grown as a direct result of consisten link-building, with the company boasting more than 17.1K links in their profile.
Sitewide authority has also increased from a DR 8 to a DR 24, another impact of effective and strategic links. Backlinks are the primary signal of site authority. They represent trust and quality content, both of which can signal to search engines that a site deserves to rank higher.
We’ve achieved a Top 3 ranking for 293 keywords and rankings for more than 4.6K keywords. The top-ranking keywords are among the most beneficial to our client, as they have a high search intent and potential for conversion.
