The stigma around professional therapy continues to wane, which has led to an increase in searches for therapy services. While this is undoubtedly a good thing, therapists are now facing increasing competition—both at the local and national level. Remote therapy services are becoming more common as a way to make counseling more accessible and continue to de-stigmatize the process of seeking help.
Our therapy services client is among those who offer both in-person and online services, which gives them a much larger target audience and market.
However, their current domain authority of 6 led to just 124 organic visitors per month.
Given the size of the market and the growing demand for therapy services, we found a way to help them rank higher in organic search so they could help more people.
The Strategy
We started our client on ABC Plus Basic, then scaled to our Intermediate level. This allowed them to “sample” the benefits of link-building before pursuing a more aggressive strategy. Our goal was to target multiple keywords that have high search volume and high conversion potential to help them capture more traffic from ready-to-commit searchers.
To achieve these keyword rankings, we needed to grow the client’s domain authority. Being an industry that qualifies as “your money or your life” content, trust is paramount to searchers. The top results will claim most of the clicks, so demonstrating trust would help the client gain higher spots in search results.
The Results
Link-building is a multi-faceted process: we identify the best keywords that have high search volume, search intent, and relevance to the client’s needs. Then we locate niche websites that have real traffic, quality content, and the same audience as the client. We also select the anchor text that will add context to the target page without over-optimizing for that keyword as a way to maintain a natural-looking link profile.
Then we repeat this process for each additional keyword and link.
